Holiday Bucket List

2020, what a year to be alive! Am I right? Obviously, I’m grateful to be alive and I was just being sarcastic. Clearly, so many holiday plans have to be put on hold while we battle through this horrific pandemic. Who is still up for making sure the 2020 holiday season consists of a little fun? Below are some idea’s I’m adding to my holiday bucket list.

I’ll be honest, it was hard making a bucket list of everything I want to do during this holiday season. I was torn between writing a list of things I’d normally look forward to doing and a list of appropriate activities for this day and age. Needless to say, I couldn’t help but make two lists. I’m an enneagram #9 after all, and couldn’t help but see the glass half full.

If I was to make a “non-pandemic” list this is what it would say:

In the Kitchen:

  1. Baking Christmas Cookies
  2. Make Homemade Hot Chocolate
  3. Build a Gingerbread House
  4. Sip on Mulled Wine or Cider (*preferably by a roaring fire place)
  5. Roast Chestnuts

Holiday Décor:

  1. Make Homemade Ornaments
  2. Hang Stockings on the Mantle
  3. DIY Ugly Christmas Sweater
  4. Make Paper Slow Flakes
  5. Light Decorative Candles

Family Time:

  1. Holiday Movie & Game Night
  2. Wear Matching PJs
  3. Decorate the Tree
  4. Build a Snowman
  5. Wrap Christmas Gifts

Outdoor Adventure:

  1. Roast Marshmallows Around a Fire Pit
  2. Go Ice Skating
  3. Have a Snowball Fight
  4. Take a Hike with Your Family
  5. SLEDDING

Volunteer:

  1. Coordinate a Toy Drive
  2. Volunteer at your Local Food Bank
  3. Send Holiday Cards to Our Troops
  4. Donate Feminine Hygiene Products to a Local Woman’s Shelter
  5. Help “High Risk” Family Members with Food & Holiday Shopping

These are just a few lists of activities I plan on doing this holiday season. To each their own – there are no rules. The holidays are about giving and spending time with loved ones. This list gives you a bunch of socially distant approved actives. As always, be safe and happy holidays, peeps!
